Christmas Sketches

Here are some sketches I did over the Christmas holiday. I could only do pen and coloured pencil sketches because we were soooo freaking busy but I had a lot of fun and got to participate in collaborative fun. If you are ever bored and have a sketch book or even a piece of paper on hand try this fun little exercise. Draw a picture just an image that takes up part of the page, then have the next person near you take the image and make their own contribution, and so on and so forth until you have filled the page. It is a blast. My friend Jason Botkin taught me this three years ago at Folk Fest. Thanks Jay.

The other images are my sister in law's boyfriend Adam in the car on our way to Flin Flon the hand in that image belongs to my wife. Yes thumbs up, thumbs up indeed...

The next image is of Beth's uncle Pat. He rocks the guitar, so I drew him while he was finger picking away. Beth's cousin Camila made me draw the rest of the scene around him and good on her for making me not be lazy. Thanks Camila.

Well more stuff to come and like I said some colour paintings as well. Prep yourselves for some acrylic and oil action.

Catch y'all on da flipside.

Great stuff James, I imagine that you had plenty of time to draw the first scene in the car from direct observation. Looks like a long, cold drive.
