Explode

This Sketch built over the course of a couple of days. It was fun though, drawings of people exploding always seem to be. Over-eating can be such a bitch.

Inbred Shaw Guy

What is with this guy? I got a mailer from shaw with this dimwitted looking character on it. Is he supposed to be a television? A pixel? He must have s certain je ne sais quois, because I did feel compelled to draw him. Sorry for the gap in posts, I managed to scan some stuff in, mostly non colour sketches though, but I do have some colour on the way.

Lady Tenticle

I was out for sushi tonight and my good friend Adrian gave me the gift of some new .5 mm ball point pens. I used them to draw this creature out onto a napkin. I liked it so much I brought it home and painted the napkin. Kind of made for a neat blending effect. I also drew another version of the creature onto a canvas with the intention of painting it. Beth wanted to so I gave it to her to paint Ièll post the finished product when she finishes it.

Gives me a chance to start on that Hellboy oil painting I wanted to do.

And the Ironman Painting I have to do, oh and the animation. So much to do, I relish the challenge.

Art for Angels: WEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Here is the finished painted piece I did for the Art for Angels Auction. It is titled "WEEEEEE!!!!" I did it on a 10" x 40" canvas with acrylic paint. posted also is my original colour comp to work out my colour schemes and composition. I had a couple of thumbnails I wanted to post as well but they were unfortunately thrown out as they were tiny and looked like scribbles. It makes me sad because I swear that I love my scribbles more than my finished piece. It is so nice to be able to look back and dissect the manner in which you achieved your final vision.

I got to spend some time with my family, my girlfriend Beth who also submitted a beautiful piece. There were some more talented artists present Adrian Shum, and Evelin Richter who both submitted great pieces. I was sad not to have the money to purchase a ticket I would have gladly acquired either of there submissions.

I took some nice photos and I will post them later when I have them downloaded, also I think I will crop some images of my painting so you can get a sense of some of the detailing I did.

More projects and sketches on the way.

Gondola Illustration

I recently did an illustratio for a Gondola Pizza flier. It was a lot of fun and had to involve a winter activity. Here are some sketches of me getting comfortable with the character and having him perform some winter sports.

I'll be posting a painting I did soon, but not before it appears in the Art for Angels art auction this Wednesday.
