Stag

My Stag is coming up this weekend so I did this graphic to go out with the invite. I did it in about a half an hour. I'm not overly happy with it but I think it has some potential for further exploration.

Computer

This is the last of the SoapScum sketches. It was a lot of fun and has grown into a whole new project. Should be a lot of fun. Got more stuff to post so no worries.

The Brain

I finally got around to colouring two of the last sketches I did for SoapScum. This is the Black and Whit and Green version of The Brain (Randy Apostle) who directs the action as the story unfolds. One last chance to come and see the show. Season Finally is Monday June 30th at The Park Theatre on Osborne. Tickets are only 5 dollars and the show starts at 8pm. Hope to see you there.

Roberto Gillespinni

here is an image I did based on my father. His name is Roberto Gillespinni and he is an infamous international jewel thief. He is also a fabulous wine maker. Those who are attending my wedding will get to sample his great vino.

He was sketched on paper scanned in and coloured in photoshop.

Delicious Pies

My sketch for this week is a machine that makes delicious pies. Concept supplied by Mr. Ezra Reimer. As you can see I went with an extended horizontal format. I did the rough sketch in pencil and darkened it up with a ball point pen. I did not have time to add the pie gremlins who run the giant machine but that is how the pies get put into the truck and how the machine stays working.

Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin

I did a sketchbook assignment on Grigori Rasputin "The Mad Monk" I actually did 5 sketches but I just can't bring myself to post the last one as it is pretty raw. All these sketches were done in India ink with a brush. The un-posted image is done in watercolor and crow quill pen.

It's funny how I feel about the image. As many know, I have no problem portraying nudity. I do it all the time, however I keep it light and fun. In the case of the Rasputin sketch. I ended up doing something darker and a bit seedy. I'll keep it to myself and some of my cohorts for the time being. It's funny because I'm not ashamed of what I have done. in fact the piece itself turned out quite well but I don't feel Kalamafraz and what it has developed into is the right place for such imagery.
